Following a recent trip to Israel and the Palestinian Territories as part of the Australian Israel UK Leadership Dialogue last month, Ian Austin, Labour MP for Dudley North, wrote to Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond to ask him to support Middle East Entrepreneurs of Tomorrow (MEET), an organisation that helps Palestinians and Israeli youngsters develop leadership and entrepreneurship skills through technology.
In his letter to Philip Hammond, Ian praises the work of MEET and other coexistence projects that have “a significant, positive impact in the region” and encourages the Minister to look at ways in which his department can provide further support to such projects.
MEET is a real success story with more than fifty projects launched and fifteen businesses established since its creation in 2004. MEET’s alumni continue to work together and serve as a testimony of the organisation’s vision of education and empowerment for tomorrow’s most promising regional leaders who will take action towards creating positive social and political impact in the Middle East.
