Labour Friends of Israel was delighted to welcome Anshel Pfeffer to Parliament, to speak about the upcoming Israeli elections.
Anshel Pfeffer is a leading Israeli Journalist, and currently writes for the Israeli daily Haaretz, the Economist and the Jewish Chronicle. He has also written for the Guardian and is often called upon by British media to provide insight on Israeli affairs.
An ‘in conversation’ event with LFI chair Joan Ryan MP, saw Pfeffer lead a wide-ranging discussion about the most pertinent factors influencing the April 9th election.
Pfeffer spoke about Netanyahu’s recent indictment on corruption charges, the emergence of challenger Benny Gantz, the continuing evolution of the Israeli Labor party and the impact of the election on the peace process.
Questions from the audience also covered issues such as the role of women in Israeli politics, and the influence of the Histadrut trade union federation.
